Something a little bit different, the tow of Atlantis back to the OPF as seen from the top of the VAB.
After having her stay in space extended by a day, Atlantis returned to the Kennedy Space Center just before 6am on July 21, bringing to a close the thirty year run of the Space Shuttle Program.
Here are a few polaroids that I’ve shot over the course of the final space shuttle mission.
I was lucky enough to be on the pad surface for the last time the RSS was rolled back.
Once Atlantis disappeared into the clouds it started to sink in that no one will ever get to see a space shuttle fly under power ever again…
