The National Bikers Roundup has rolled into Columbia, Mo. on Tuesday.  As my time doing reporting for the Missourian draws to a close, I’m enjoying the opportunity to make some pictures again.  Check out our coverage of the event on ColumbiaMissourian.com

Being a bit of an aviation nerd, having a chance to photograph Air Force One was a pretty cool experience.  I was one of only two still photographers hanging out at the airport all day.  I wish they would have let us just hang out on the tarmac all day instead of shuttling us back into a holding room.

When I last photographed President Obama back in April I didn’t have the chance to cover his arrival and departure in Air Force One.  When I heard that he was coming to Kansas City, I knew this was my second chance.  I brought along my Polaroid and and decided to make two photos of Air Force One and then present them side by side.  Watch for a later post with a few more images for the arrival and departure.

My semester at the Columbia Missourian is winding down.  As one of my last assignments I photographed a boneless buffalo wing eating contest, needless to say it was quite interesting.

President Barack Obama visited the POET Biorefining Plant on Wednesday, April 28, 2010 and spoke to a small gathering of employees and White House guests.  Watch for a few more photos of photos from the event.

I shot rugby for the first time yesterday and had a blast.  It took me a little while to figure out the flow of the game, but once I got that down it was a lot of fun to shoot.

The above photo was shot on a Canon 1D Mk IV, I’ve got one for a little while on loan from CPS.  For those interested it was shot with a  300 2.8 + 1.4TC with the camera set at  1/2500 f/4 @ 400ISO.

Another assignment from Staff Photojournalism, this time I was photographing a concert at Mojo’s in Columbia, Mo for VOX.  It felt good to be shooting music again, it’s been way to long.

For my second assignment at the Missourian that didn’t involve sports, I got to photograph the official closure of the old Council Chambers in the Daniel Boone Building and the opening of the new Council Chambers in the new City Hall building right next door.
