September, 2012 Archives

I’m in Florida once again, this time for the final ferry flight of the space shuttle era.  Endeavour (OV-105) is scheduled to make her final trip, departing the Kennedy Space Center for Los Angeles, on Monday, Sept. 17.  In the early hours of Friday, Sept. 14, Endeavour left the Vehicle Assembly Building for one last time and was towed out to the Shuttle Landing Facility for mating with the Shuttle Carrier Aircraft, a modified 747.  I’ll do a longer post once the entire operation is complete.

I’ve been terrible about keeping my blog updated over the last four months or so, so here’s a big one.  Back in July I spent a week in Stratham, N.H. covering the U.S. Junior Amateur for the United States Golf Association.  The idea of covering a week long golf event as the sole photographer was somewhat intimidating at first, but it was actually a lot of fun.  Here are some images that I really liked from my week of shooting.

Another trip to the Kennedy Space Center is coming up, this time following the transfer of Endeavour to the California Science Center.
